LT Image [DM7025]

Recommended Posts

LT-Image

7th of May, 2007

We are a bunch of happy DB7025 owners that would like to share a thing we have been working on for some time now, namely a new image for the wonderful Dreambox 7025. As we are big fans of Tmbinc, Ghost and the other hard working DMM guys, we wanted to create an image which is "as close to CVS as possible"... but still has some nice additions and changes.

So we have put together an image which has several "extra" features as well as keeping very close to CVS, we also take advantage of the nice online update feature of OE images, so once installed... you are just a few remote control clicks away from the "latest" version from our DMM friends. Almost nothing inside Enigma2 etc is changed, we have only "added" things...

Also included, is a new "look and feel" main menu with EMU manager, online download of addons/plugins etc. Built in EMUInfo-panel for checking the status of your favorite EMU.

Select between Neutrino, Enigma2 remote control setup... or config your own!

Trouble the mount commands working? Then use the built in MountManager...

Also, each time we build the image... we are pulling data from LyngSat.com to automatically build a brand new Satellites.xml file... but if this is not good enough for you, you can always fire up the "on-board LyngSat.XML generator" and have the dreambox pull this data directly from LyngSat and generate a new XML-file for you... one Enigma2 restart later you have the very latest Satellites.xml in your box, ready for scanning...

Well... these are some of the main features included, but I guess the best way to find out what the rest of the features are is to download and flash you 7025 with the LT-Image.

To post feedback on the image, like wanted features, bugs or anything else...just use one of the main dreambox forums out there...we will be sneaking around in the back and collect the info, but don't expect us to answer questions as we all are quite shy...

Install

-------

This release contains so much new stuff that we have decided not make this available through our online update service. We think it might be too risky and we therefore want you to do a clean flash install with this image. Remember to backup all your data...through one of the LT Backup scripts perhaps?

Also, we are not at all testing the image through multi boot so we have NO idea if it works or not. We do recommend you NOT to run through a multi boot tool to to get the most stable environment. Also, we are NOT interested in bug reports from images run from multi boot...sorry, but we have to stay to one environment only.

So...well, let's hope you enjoy the new major release from LT...also, please remember that we only do this for ourselves and it is our hobby so have some patience with us and treat us fair! We have seen some use of the LT code put into other images we do not support nor like this type of action, and will not suport sites that allow their members to do this, we feel that the best way to enjoy the LT Image is to....simply use the LT Image...and remember, it is for free!

Disclaimer

----------

The LT Image does not contain any EMU's and all the patches we have done to the CVS code is included with full source code in the image. Our own code (non-patched) is however kept as compiled only.

Now...good luck upgrading and we hope that you enjoy our new image!

LT - The Fourth ®evolution DM7025/plus

The 12th of March, 2008

well...that was a nice reception we got of the preview video for LT4 - The Fourth ®evolution...actually so great that we replanned the release to be today instead of later this weekend... We have so many people waiting for it that long, can we?

This time we have many new improvements in store for you. We have worked very very hard on this, and we feel that this is the image where we actually have added many new features, never seen on a dreambox before. Of course we have worked very hard to kill as many bugs as possible and make this image as stable as possible. We hope that this "extra beta month" has paid off well and you will enjoy it.

Here is a list that will summarize some of the new features:

* Brand new MediaCenter! You have seen it on the video...now go and test it!

* Online Video-player!!! Yes..it is true! Browse Google Videos, Youtube, on your DB and just play em...done through the MediaCenter and the LTStream2Dream tool!

* NRTR - "NO-RESTORE-TO-REFLASH"....keep the settings on CF card without need to backup when reflashing... More information and details on how to use this will come in separate tutorials on WWW.LTTEAM.ORG once we everything sorted. Stay tuned for more info!

* Lowered the total memory consumption of Enigma2! We have changed how E2 loads the skin's and that has turned out very well. This patch has been submitted to DMM and hopefully will be included in CVS soon.

Some of the major changes include:

* New skin, the amazing GlassLine.II by Nemesis! Picture-in-Graphics (PiG) enabled...this is of course optional!

* New remote control settings. You can now have up to 4 different Dreamboxes in same room.

* The "IMDB plugin" is such a great plugin and we have added it as a default plugin...

Well...there has been a lot of changes, most of them are coming from your requests and great ideas. Please keep them coming and keep us busy in the team... We all started this to get the image we wanted and started to share it. It has now turned into a great hobby...so spam us with ideas. Some will make it in...some won't.

Have fun...and don't forget...this release needs a CLEAN FLASH INSTALL, i.e. no multiboot is tested or supported by LT.

!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!

This image is stretching the specs of the good old 7025 quite heavy so it is strongly recommended to setup a SWAP-file of at least 32MB on a CF card as soon as possible. We have worked hard on decreasing memory usage (see skin-loading-patch above) to make this as stable as possible...but we strongly advice you to use a SWAP-file for best experience.

!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!

Many thanks to DMM, tmbinc and Ghost for all help and support you have given to us.

Happy Dreaming!

LT Fifth SP7 for DM7025 - Very Final Edition

LT Fifth SP7 - Very Final Edition...

So you thought that SP6 was end of the line for LT Fifth...

DMM has been very productive and released so many updates to their boxes and we have been lazy and worked with our real work/life and not produced any LT Sixth yet.
We just could not resist make a new improved LT Fifth for all you users.

Special attention:
First, as always we are afraid that Barry Allen will not work since we always only test the image in flash.
This time special for dm8000 we really really press this point since the new secondstage is dependant on other packages in the image to work properly.
If you fail to meet thoose dependencies you will fail to boot!

Second, dm7025 is pushed beyond it's hardware so you must have a swapfile on CF (we do not recommend USB Stick on dm7025 due to USB not working 100% correct) otherwise the image will not work correct.
You might want to ensure that EPG data is stored in CF so you don't fill your flash with the data.

LT Fifth SP8 - Another Edition

Sunday, 26 July 2009

LT Fifth - Another Edition

Yes, we still been busy and not finished LT6 image but DMM has been productive and developed lots of things so we thought that we at least could do a little upgrade on LT5 for all of you users.

For LT part we have only followed some changes from Enigma2 into our LT code and restored our default settings which we managed to remove somehow...

Otherwise this image has followed all changes in Enigma2 and OE done by DMM.

LT Fifth SP8(2.8.09) - DM7025

Sunday, 02 August 2009

Sometimes things does not go as planned and that is a fact of life.

Our first release of LT Fifth SP8 had an issue with DVB-C and when we fixed that problem we introduced a new issue with character encoding in Enigma2.

Anyhow we decided to make a re-release of LT Fifth SP8 where at least thoose two issues are fixed.

All previous LT Fifth SP8 releases should not be used and have been deleted from this server. This is the release to use.

LT5 sp9 - The end

Since we made a descision of not make any LT6 for the dm7025 since to get it working we had to modify so much. Instead we made a sp9 for dm7025 of LT5 as "The end" for LT on this platform. Yes, you can start whine in forums but as it is now descion is final.

Note, you must have a swapfile on CF or you will suffer from BSOD sooner or later due to "Out of memory". Do not use a US Stick since USB does not work well on dm7025.

What we have done on sp9 is only update Enigma2, drivers and secondstage. Also we had to remove some GL.II skin parts and use default_skin to avoid some BSOD, we had not time to make new screens.

Hopefully we managed to sort out all BSOD from the image since this time it was not that hard tested.

LT6½ OE1.6 for DM7025 released (LT revision 3430) - aka LT Six and a half!

REQUIEM FOR…a Dream!!!

Lately things became very hard for most of us in the LT Team regarding personal issues that prevent us from focusing to our main purpose regarding the SAT scene, which is out beloved LT image. We have done too much progress regarding the changes, and the transition from LT5th Campaign to the LT6th Sense was almost flawless. New updates were going public with the use of the Service Packs and bugs that were not revealed during the beta testing era, where eliminated after all. However and apart from our problems, each and every one of us is trying to do its best to keep this "idea" alive and make the Sat community and especially our supporters as happy as possible.

This was supposed to be LT7 but the thing called real life struck us hard, very hard... We then did the best of the situation and here is LT6½ image. It is a LT6 but updated with latest Enigma2 and OE 1.6. LT7 is postponed for the near future till our beloved head graphics designer Nemesis is back. LT7 will have the same structure as LT6½ but with the addition of a new/enhanced skin. Till then…sit back and

enjoy our beloved image…

A big special thanx to all the Beta testers involved! IMPORTANT!!!

Due to all discussions that has followed when Gemini Team removed the download of softCAM's, we have decided that for now we will do the same. We do not know if the softCAM's are legal or not till now.

LT7th OE1.6 for DM7025 - (LT revision 3563)

Been some time since we updated the image but now we managed to do it. Our lifes does contain more than Dreambox and to mention some of it, heart-attack, divorce, by-pass operation, unemployment, too much work, children, moving to new house/apartment...

I think you got the picture that Dreambox is not at the top of the list in our lifes right now...

LT6½ actually was LT7 but we added new feature to this image so we decided to make a release of LT7. We have kept the LT6.HD skin as the skin, due to we like it, any skinner out there who wants to make skin? If yes we could add to our download server.

The new cool feature of LT7 is our brand new LT MSN Plugin. Keep contact with your friends on MSN direct on your Dreambox, get notified when you have new email to read. You will get most out of this plugin if you have a DMM keyboard.

Experimental and might not work well!

dm8000, dm500hd, dm7025 #83

Enigma2:
20110811 Experimental

LT revision:

Updates:
1. MyTube plugin can again be started from LT MediaCenter
2. Weatherchannel been updated with new html-code
3. UPnp and DLNA support been updated, djmount as DLNA client and uShare or Mediatomb as DLNA servers. Still no LT GUI for Mediatomb so it is only for users who knows how to install things manually and create start/stop scripts (sorry).
4. Latest release version of Gstreamer thanks to Fraxinas at DMM, this is still not in normal CVS image.
5. Listing a directory with many movies in LT MediaCenter was slow but now it is fast again.
6. For you who has DVB-T/C mixed in your dm8000 you might have noticed that default settings did not work properly. There is now a work-around in Enigma2 for this thanks to Acid-burn at DMM.

New:
1. New LT MSN plugin first release!

We hope you enjoy it...as we do!!!

Cheers
Roulitsas/LT-Team
